VTM AU Timeline
February 21st, 1942 - J.M. Austen is born to Angela Brian Austen (née O'Shea) and Ronaldo Montage Austen.
July, 1952 - J sees her very first Marilyn Monroe movie, "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," at 10 years old by spying down at the theater.
1955 - J's mother shoots her father because. Yeah. J is 13 at the time, and sent to an orphanage (location unknown) as her mother is arrested and then committed. For a year, she can't speak.
1956 - J breaks through the block keeping her from speaking, and (unrelatedly) is adopted by Ms. Callensburg at age 14, becoming J.S. Callensburg. She is brought to live and learn at a very religious school, Callensburg Gymnasium, in Pennsylvania. Not long after, she starts performing at Bar Alcoholic, wearing a dress and wig and singing Marilyn Monroe's songs. Pretty soon she's moved to be roommates with Paul Anderson, Ms. Callensburg's nephew and J's first real crush, in hopes that he'll curb her "delinquency."
January-February, 1959 - J, 16, meets Arther F. Justus and seeks him out to go work at his club, Club Blue Rapid, in New York City.
April, 1959 - At 17, J sees her first Marilyn Monroe movie in several years, "Some Like It Hot." She has a fight with Paul and leaves school to go to NYC with Arther, going back to using the name J.M. Austin and performing under the name Lady J.
February 26th, 1961 - When J is 19, Margaret "Rita" Barthelme collapses in the cold on the roadside in front of J's apartment building. J takes her in, and Rita quickly becomes her attendant. A lot of emotional shit happens but J isn't raped by the KKK dude, thank you very much for that shitty storyline, canon.
April 15th, 1961 - Rita and J still have a fight, though, emotional stuff kinda boiling up. Edmont Clemens comes to interview J for the first issue of his magazine (which fails pretty quickly after things fall apart here). J quietly disappears after Arther proposes to Rita, though Rita declines.
August 5th, 1962 - J, who is 20 at this point and has not been picked up for vagrancy in this timeline, hears about Marilyn Monroe's suicide, and it hits her hard. Seeking out comfort, J meets her Sire, a Daughter of Cacophony trans woman from the 1700s named Rosemarie, who takes her in and helps encourage her.
December, 1962 - J finds out that Rosemarie is a vampire. Merry Christmas! Seriously, though, after a little initial freaking out, she's kind of fascinated and they talk a lot.
February 21st, 1963 - On her 21st birthday, J asks for Rosemarie to turn her into a vampire. Rosemarie is a bit hesitant, but accepts before too long.
April, 1965 - At 23 and after 2 years of being a vampire, J is pleasantly surprised to reconnect with Andrew Morgan (26) after he finally does get out of jail. Eventually she winds up making him her ghoul, though probably at least in May.
1973 - At Rosemarie's urging, the three of them start making their way to the west coast, as New York City is such a powderkeg and not as firmly Camarilla as she's comfortable with. She also thinks they could fit right in in the growing Las Vegas, and they take about a week and a half to safely traverse the distance. J has been a vampire for 10 years at this point! Still a baby.
1975-1996 - During the span of these years, J likes to go back and forth between Las Vegas and San Francisco, loving the beaches of California. Sometimes all three of them go together, sometimes just her and Rosemarie, more often just her and Morgan, and sometimes she goes alone.
1996 - Jochen Van Nuys forcibly takes San Francisco's Princedom from Vannevar Thomas, and J decides to keep a bit of a distance for a while.
2001 - Sara Anne Winder replaces Van Nuys, which doesn't make J any less wary. She decides to wait a bit longer, for the apparently unstable political situation to die down some.
2003 - J becomes interested when she hears that the Camarilla renewed their presence in Los Angeles...
2004 - ...and, well, she just can't resist visiting for long, despite a similarly uncertain political situation. She's never been, and the City of Angels just has so much romance, doesn't it? J has been a vampire for 41 years at this point, and is 62 years old. (Morgan has been her ghoul for around 40 years at this point, and is 65. They both know they'll have to figure out if he actually wants to be Embraced at some point in the next decade or two, but they're not in a particular rush.)
